Some students want to get a job as soon as they finish their ABE qualifications. Other students already have a job and take our programmes part-time. Employers look for ABE qualification holders because they have the business skills to succeed and develop in the workplace.
ABE and employers share a common interest - our members are their employees. In every exam session our students receive hundreds of letters of support from employers. We have these letters from multinationals and from very small businesses.
This highlights the value and flexibility of ABE.
We are also working directly with employers. Our London staff and representatives speak to local business people regularly through chambers of commerce and network events. This keeps ABE's profile high.
We have a number of case studies from employers delighted with ABE. Here are some of them:
Hi-Lo Food Stores is one of the largest supermarket chains in Trinidad. It was founded in 1950 and has over 1700 employees.
Hi-Lo has a history of supporting staff taking ABE programmes, as part of its training and development policy. We contribute 50% towards the course fees for those successfully completing the programme.
We feel that ABE programmes offer an increased understanding of the working world and the industry in which the organisation is placed. Of course, the employee's own knowledge base is broadened as well.
We consider ABE qualification holders for posts when recruiting. They have the knowledge base and skills such as teamwork which are a definite plus.

Lanbase System Technologies is an e-business company that employs 30 people in Nairobi. We work with organisations as diverse as FedEx, the Commercial Bank of Africa and the Kenyan Ministry of Health. We improve their business processes and their customers' experience.
We first supported a member of staff taking ABE qualifications in 2005. Our company policy demands that we develop and build the capability of our employees, so we were delighted to help.
Kenya has a large number of ABE students across the country and we will seek them when we recruit in the future.
